Ovechkin's Winter Classic skates

Alex Ovechkin has sometimes been called the most NBA-y guy in the NHL, and the Winter Classic will provide another piece of evidence. Just as NBA stars have debuted custom All-Star Game sneaker models -- guys like Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, and yes, Gilbert -- Ovechkin will be busting out these special edition CCM U+ Crazy Light skates for the Winter Classic.

Ovi's camp has worked with CCM since the summer on the skates, which feature Caps red, the Ovi8 logo in yellow and the names of Ovechkin's brother and grandfather. The skates will be available at retail in a few months, without the references to Ovi's family members.
